Craig Whalen is an Executive Director at Infrastructure Capital Group which has over $2.1 billion of funds under management across 13 projects, including five wind farms. Having joined in 2008, Craig has over 23 years’ experience in infrastructure in various capacities including as fund manager, financial advisor and debt arranger. He led ICG’s successful acquisition of Bald Hills Wind Farm and in recent years has undertaken a variety of innovative long-term debt financings including the US Private Placement / Green Bond for Hallett Hill 2 Wind Farm (2015), Mumbida Wind Farm (2017), Japanese Samurai loan for Hallett 4 Wind Farm (2018) and Neerabup Power Station (2019).
Craig maintains direct involvement in various assets that are managed by ICG and is a director of Bald Hills, Hallett Hill 2 Wind Farm, Hallett 4 Wind Farm and Flinders Port Holdings. Craig is also a director of ICG and sits on its investment committee.
Prior to joining ICG, Craig was a Director in Project Finance at ANZ and Associate Director at Macquarie Bank. He was also previously a banking and finance lawyer at Mallesons Stephen Jaques.
