The Adelaide Festival invites you to celebrate its partnership with Festival d’Aix-en-Provence
By invitation only, the Adelaide Festival welcomes selected FACCI members to an exquisite dinner at La Buvette on Wednesday 8 September, 5.45pm. This event will be generously supported by the Office of the French Strategy.
This dinner event is to celebrate the announcement of the centrepiece work of the 2022 Adelaide Festival – a work co-produced and co-commissioned through a partnership with Festival International d'Art Lyrique d’Aix-en-Provence.
The historic agreement between Adelaide Festival and Festival International d'Art Lyrique d’Aix-en-Provence was formed in 2019 with the intention of presenting three major operatic centrepieces over three years.
Premier of South Australia, Steven Marshall says: “[The Adelaide Festival / Festival d’Aix-en-Provence agreement] is a huge step forward in the already strong relationship between France and South Australia. It celebrates our deep cultural and business ties and it further cements Adelaide’s position as a UNESCO City of Music. I am delighted that a partnership like this not only provides outstanding artistic opportunity but also the potential for new business opportunities for the Adelaide Festival - a win-win for South Australia,”
After the sell-out success of Requiem as part of the 2020 Adelaide Festival, however, the partnership had a slight pause in 2021 but is back on track to deliver a key piece to Adelaide in March next year.
On Wednesday 8 September, invited guests will hear from Adelaide Festival’s Artistic Directors, Rachel Healy and Neil Armfield who, by then, would have freshly returned from France where they viewed this piece at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, after receiving exemptions to travel to Europe and the United Kingdom.
The 3 course, sit down dinner will provide guests with the opportunity to learn about the Adelaide Festival’s plans for 2022 and beyond, in a covid-safe environment.
