In November 2020, Sascha took over as the Head of Australasia Airbus Defence and Space, and manages the division’s activities in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania. Based in Canberra, he focuses on the company’s customer relationships from business development and sales through to programme execution.
After receiving his Master’s Degree in Air Transport Engineering from City University, London, UK in 2000, he joined Airbus (EADS at the time) through the Corporate Young Managers Programme and then assumed the position of Executive Assistant to the Head of the Business Line Airborne Systems in August 2001.
In 2004, he moved into project management taking over the responsibility for the mission planning system of the NH90 helicopter for an international customer followed by a position as project manager for the defensive aids subsystem of the A400M military transport aircraft. With this background, Sascha then moved into sales for mission systems in 2010. He managed international teams and sales campaigns and in 2013 extended his expertise to also cover product sales of unmanned aerial systems.
In September 2016, Sascha relocated to Singapore and assumed the position of Head of Singapore and Brunei. In July 2019, he was appointed Head of Southeast Asia (South) for Airbus Defence and Space. With a team of Sales and Marketing professionals spread over Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore he was driving sales and managing the relationships with the company’s key customers in these countries.
Sascha is married and, in his free time, enjoys running, photography, and travelling.
